The India Business Forum, South Africa organised an insightful and engaging visit to the Klerksdorp Solar Project of Sterling & Wilson. We were honoured by the presence of H.E. Shri Prabhat Kumar, High Commissioner of India to South Africa, along with H.E. Shri Harish Kumar, Acting Consul General of India in Johannesburg, whose visit added great significance to the occasion.

The Energy Sector members from the India Business Forum, along with Ms. Maya Bhatt, General Secretary, actively participated in the site visit, gaining valuable insights into one of the region’s key renewable energy projects. The delegation was warmly welcomed by Shri Surinder Sharma, General Manager, who set the tone for an informative session. This was followed by a detailed and engaging presentation by Shri Shiv Shanker Pandey, Director – Projects at Sterling & Wilson, who shared key facts and figures about the project, including its construction scale and economic development obligations.

The visit provided a deeper understanding of South Africa’s renewable energy landscape and highlighted the growing collaboration and knowledge exchange within the energy sector.
