On Friday, 5 September 2025, the CII-India Business Forum South Africa had the privilege of supporting the Soft Inauguration of Finestar Jewellery & Diamonds (Pty) Ltd’s New Diamond Manufacturing Facility, held at the Gauteng Industrial Development Zone (GIDZ), OR Tambo, Bonaero Park.

The event was graced by Honourable Minister of Mineral Resources and Energy, Mr. Gwede Mantashe, who inaugurated the facility alongside H.E. Mr. Prabhat Kumar, High Commissioner of India to South Africa. H.E. Mr. Mahesh Kumar, Consul General of India, Johannesburg, shared insightful remarks on strengthening India–South Africa relations.

Ms. Nosiphiwo Mzamo, CEO of State Diamond Trader, emphasized the importance of beneficiation in the diamond industry.

Mr. Prince Mbetse, CEO of Finestar South Africa, outlined the company’s commitment to building collaboration between government and industry, while driving growth and transformation. Minister Mantashe reaffirmed South Africa’s commitment to creating an enabling environment for investors, highlighting the need for private capital, government policy, and community needs to converge for shared prosperity.
